As part of\u00a0<\/span>RT\u00c9\u2019s continued commitment to promoting\u00a0Irish music,\u00a0<\/span>RT\u00c9\u00a02FM\u00a0celebrates the announcement of the shortlist across its schedule throughout the day with\u00a0<\/span>All Irish Music All Day<\/i><\/span>\u00a0from 6am to midnight. As part of this Louise McSharry will present\u00a0a\u00a0two-hour special programme on\u00a0this year’s\u00a0RT\u00c9\u00a0Choice Music Prize, Irish Album of the Year 2017\u00a0shortlist\u00a0from 8-10pm\u00a0this evening.\u00a0RT\u00c9\u00a02FM\u00a0will continue to mark the announcement of the shortlist this\u00a0week and beyond through a mix of airplay of tracks from the shortlisted albums, interviews with this year\u2019s shortlisted artists and live performances.<\/span><\/p>\n The shortlisted albums can be enjoyed in full on the RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize website\u00a0<\/span>www.choicemusicprize.ie<\/a>and on\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>www.2fm.ie\/rtechoicemusic<\/a>.\u00a0The winning album will be announced at the RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize live event, held in<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Vicar Street, Dublin on<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Thursday 8th<\/sup><\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>March 2018<\/b>. As part of the partnership with RT\u00c9, the event will be broadcast live on RT\u00c9\u00a0<\/span>2FM\u00a0<\/span>in a special\u00a0four-hour extended\u00a0programme from 7-11pm and on RT\u00c92 as part of a special RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize TV programme, approximately one week later.<\/p>\n The 13th annual RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize will once again celebrate and acknowledge the best in Irish recorded music. \u00a0The prize has become one of the highlights of the Irish musical calendar since its inception in 2005 and is awarded to the Irish Album of the Year, as chosen from a shortlist of ten releases by a panel of twelve Irish music media professionals and industry experts.<\/p>\n The winning act will receive \u20ac10,000, a prize fund which has been provided by\u00a0<\/span>The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO)\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA). All of the shortlisted acts will receive a specially commissioned award.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n RAAP, Culture Ireland & Golden Discs are also official project partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Culture Ireland will fund the attendance of influential overseas Industry executives to attend the RTE Choice Music Prize Live Event on March 8th<\/sup>\u00a0while\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Golden Discs will feature special stands showcasing the RTE Choice Music Prize nominees across their stores nationwide.<\/span><\/p>\n RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize \u2013 Irish Song of The Year 2017<\/span><\/u><\/p>\n The shortlist for\u00a0<\/span>the RT\u00c9 Choice Music Prize \u2013\u00a0Irish Song of The Year 2017<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>will be announced on Wednesday 31st<\/sup>\u00a0January 2018. A special event featuring exclusive performances from both Album of the Year and Song of the Year nominees will be held in Dublin\u2019s Tramline venue that evening.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
